Unreleased Mac Miller Album ‘Balloonerism’ Coming Out In Early 2025

On Wednesday (November 20), Mac Miller’s estate announced that they are officially releasing Balloonerism, a previously unreleased 2014 full-length album from the late rapper, on January 17, 2025. Miller, who died of an overdose in 2018, had worked on Balloonerism during the same time as he was recording his fan favorite 2014 mixtape, Faces. Miller subsequently put out Faces as a free digital download, but instead of releasing Balloonerism next, Miller signed with Warner and dropped GO:OD AM in 2015, leaving his prior collection unreleased until now. “It is a project that was of great importance to Malcolm – to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it,” read the estate’s statement. “Releasing Balloonerism was something that Malcolm frequently expressed being important to him, we felt it most appropriate to present an official version of the project to the world.” Miller’s website currently is offering several versions of the project for presale on both vinyl and CD.
