The Wilmington Hammerheads game and fireworks show Thursday cancelled (7:30)
WECT TV Sounds of Summer concert in Wrightsville Beach Park (6:00)
Carolina Beach Boardwalk Blast (band and fireworks) (6:00)
Town of Surf City fireworks (9:00). Will be rescheduled Aug. 29 for Labor Day Weekend.
At this time the City of Wilmington’s fireworks show (9:05) and the Southport fireworks show (9:00) on Friday night IS STILL ON.
Brunswick Community College will close at 1 pm Thursday and will remain closed all day July 4th.
UNCW will close the main campus and the Onslow campus at 5 pm Thursday. That also means all campus services will close EXCEPT Wagoner Dining Hall which will close at 6 pm Thursday.
All campuses of Cape Fear Community College will close Thrsday at 2 pm and remain closed all day Friday July 4th.
Freeman Park at the north end of Carolina Beach is closed (as of 9 am Thursday). Once conditions improve the park will re-open at some point on the 4th. As soon as we learn what time that will be we will let you know.
Carolina Beach town officials anticipate the Snows Cut Bridge will remain OPEN for the duration of the storm unless conditions worsen with sustained winds of over 45 mph.
Wrightsville Beach town officials also have stated the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge will remain open to all traffic for the duration of the storm.
